Friday: Review any errors from the spelling test and math review wksht.
Announcements: Please have students bring in their copy of George the Drummer Boy. We will begin reading it on Wednesday, March 21.

Academics
Math: This week we will work to review past material from quarter 1-3 before beginning a new math unit. We will practice identifying numbers (tens and ones), counting, making and breaking tens to complete addition and subtraction number with number within 20, as well as general number sense.
Poem: Sing a song of People by Lois Lenski Idiom: A.M., P.M.
Writing: Students will be able to understand the basic conventions of a proper sentence and rewrite a model sentence. We will read and write about sections of "Pollyanna" by Eleanor Porter
Grammar: We will begin to learn about adverbs and how they modify adjectives and verbs in a sentence.

Literature: Literature: Students will read a historical fiction selection from the perspective of a British soldier as we read George the Drummer Boy by Nathaniel Benchley. Please have your child bring their copy of this book to school.
Science: We will continue to study rocks and the Earth’s core.
History: Students will learn about the 13 colonies, taxation and the Boston Tea Party as we lead up to teaching about the American Revolution.
